Episode 163 – With Douglas Lain

On October 1, 2013, in Uncategorized, by Patrick Hester

BillyMoonIn the 163rd episode of the Functional Nerds podcast, Patrick Hester and John Anealio welcome Douglas Lain, author of the new book, Billy Moon, out from TOR.

About Douglas Lain:

Lain is the producer and host of the weekly podcast Diet Soap, which features insightful guests discussing a wide range of topics, including philosophy, mysticism, economics, and fiction. He writes for the popular blog Thought Catalog and his short stories have appeared in Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet and Amazing Stories. Lain wrote BILLY MOON as a response to the critic’s description of the Paris revolt—an imaginary revolution that led to nothing—and offers instead the possibility that there’s something dangerous about poetry and real about the imaginary and that in order to be a true revolutionary, we must start taking our fantasies seriously and stop seeking solid ground.  He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife and children.
