“Jerusalem Poker” is part of a quartet by Edward Whittemore. The quartet is made up of “Sinai Tapestry”, “Jerusalem Poker”, “Nile Shadows” and “Jericho Mosaic”. He also wrote “Quin’s Shanghai Circus” which is a standalone and something of a warmup for the quartet.

They were most recently published in the US by Old Earth Books. If you can find them, pick them up.
