Episode 074 – Peter Giglio
In episode 74 of the Functional Nerds Podcast, Patrick Hester and John Anealio welcome author and editor Peter Giglio.
When Peter Giglio isn’t writing, he plays with fire, juggles clowns, and dirty dances with the benevolent ghost of Patrick Swayze. Thankfully, he writes all the time. He is the co-author of “The Better Half: A Love Story”, appearing in the anthology Werewolves and Shapeshifters: Encounters with the Beast Within, edited by John Skipp. His first novel, ANON, will soon be published by Hydra Publications. And he has two e-books on the horizon: A SPARK IN THE DARKNESS from Etopia Press, and BALANCE from MuseItUp Publishing. Several of his short stories will soon appear in anthologies from Pill Hill Press and Library of the Living Dead. With Scott Bradley, he is working on the screen adaptation of a well known short story and several other classified projects.

I found the Kevin Smith stuff fascinating, and I didn’t know all of that backstory to Clerks 2…
Re: Tudyk.
Did you watch I, Robot, Patrick? He’s in that 😉
I’ve only seen a brief bit of I, Robot and I didn’t like what I saw so I never watched the rest of the movie.
On Smith – yeah, he covered it all on his blog years ago. I always thought the Mewes’ story would make a good book – maybe one of those blog to books deals.
As far as I know, Mewes has been clean and sober for years, which is what made it possible for them to do Clerks 2. In the end, Smith told him that he could not be part of his life anymore, part of his daughter’s life or his family, if he wasn’t clean. Did you know that Smith’s daughter is named after the Joker’s paramour, Harley Quinn? And that Mewes has a tattoo on his back dedicated to young Harley? So, being cut out of their lives was the push he needed to get straight again.
Really powerful stuff.

Umm, nope! Not entirely surprised, all things considered.
