This week’s picks:
In episode 250 of the Functional Nerds Podcast, Patrick Hester and John Anealio chat for a bit, then segue into Patrick’s interview with Alma Alexander at the 74th WorldCon.
About Alma:
Alma has written and published well over two million words, most about places which never existed before she imagined them into being.
She was born in a town on the banks of the Danube in a country which no longer exists. When she was ten, she left the country of her birth, never to live there again. She has lived in five countries on four continents and now spends a good deal of her time in the realm of Cyberspace.
More than a score of her books are in print, including a YA series, Worldweavers, which Voya has recommended for those suffering from Harry Potter withdrawal, and The Were Chronicles, which creates a whole new shifter universe. One of her novels, The Secrets of Jin-shei, has been published in 13 languages and has touched readers around the world. Just recently, for example, a young woman talked excitedly about it in a video on her blog.
She was born on the fifth day of July six years before man walked on the moon, and is now married to a man who wooed her over the Internet and lured her to America. She is owned by two cats.
