In the 168th episode of the Functional Nerds podcast, Patrick Hester and John Anealio talk.
What do we talk about? Well – there’s the bit about… you know what? You should just listen to the episode. That is way easier than me having to sit here and type up a bunch of clever show notes that you probably won’t even read in the first place. In fact, I think I’ll just stop typing right now. So there.
This episode contains a special guest intro from Matthew Sanborn Smith. You should go check out his podcast, Beware The Hairy Mango, right now.
This week’s Picks:
- John: Relentless: The Memoir by Yngwie J. Malmsteen

I liked #168, and hearing your views about social media. I must admit that I’m more active on Facebook than on Twitter, probably because more of my friends are on FB than Twitter. Come to think of it, I might be as active on Wattpad as I am on Twitter.
I agree that you should do what you can manage. I post my progress when I’ve completed a writing session; I try to work in two sessions a day. Usually the posts are nothing more than a page count and a few words about what was written. When I have a new blog entry done I’ll share it here and there. I do post event pictures on FB. The table photos go to my author page; everything else goes into an album on my personal page. I am trying to like & favorite more posts by others as well.
Keep up the good work on the podcast.
Thanks, guys. I do appreciate the dynamic you two have together shorn of a guest or third wheel.
Clancy knew how to grip readers, I agree, Patrick.
If I had to eyeball it, for the Functional Nerds alone, Patrick, I’d put a floor of about 120 hours of time you’ve recorded (and that is a low ball figure based on episode length)
