Maybe the men aren't "afraid" of getting hit on so much as it can be awkward, embarrassing etc. Keeping focused on your workout and wearing headphones helps, though you can always politely tell them you're there to work out. :) I’ve seen it happen to both men and women, and it’s never a good situation.
