Good review, Cathy. I got very intrigued by the concept, but I don't think I want to read a book that won't give away not even one major information about the plot. Besides, I want to relate with the characters, not find them laughable.

I like a lot of Foster's books, but I didn't read this mostly because I was worried about exactly what you stated as problems. So, thanks for saving me some money! :)

Of his books I highly recommend the Taken trilogy and Interlopers. They are quick and satisfying reads.
